About Coco
Coco creates brilliant portraits of nature with vibrant, fluid color and expressive brushstrokes. Her work has an exotic subject matter with a pleasing innocence, set against backgrounds that are elusive and abstract.
The desire to express herself with color started when she was a young girl. Originally from California, Coco received her first lessons in oil painting from her mother, an accomplished artist who recognized Coco’s gift early. But it wasn’t until moving to Hawaii that Coco realized her potential as a professional artist.
For more than thirty years, the islands were her inspiration. Her watercolors have an inner glow, a harmonious balance of soul and mind, and her serene, timeless work found a devoted following among collectors. Her long collaboration with Roy Tabora, one of Hawaii’s most celebrated oil painters, brought Coco back to her roots and rekindled her passion for oil painting. Her island-inspired oils have continued to delight longtime collectors and new admirers alike.
Today Coco paints from her studio in Cazadero, California, among the redwoods of the Sonoma coast, where new landscapes are finding their way into her work. Her paintings are held in public and private collections in the United States and abroad, have been shown in exhibitions nationwide, and she welcomes private and public commissions.
